Bridget Riley CH CBE (b. 1931) is an English painter abstract painter who came to prominence in the American Optical Art movement of the 1960s. She creates works that engage the viewers' perception to induce simultaneously shifting patterns of forms and changing, optical mixtures of colours and induce a variety of sensations. In 2012, she became the first woman to receive the Sikkens Prize, the Dutch art prize recognising her use of colour.
