    A Big Bold Beautiful Show

    23rd October – 6th November 2025

This October marks Hidden's ten-year anniversary!

Over the last decade, Hidden has become one of most-loved galleries by exhibiting world-class artworks. Hidden was born from a desire to make museum-quality artworks accessible to all and since opening in 2015, we are thrilled to have toured our collection at art fairs and pop-up exhibitions across the country. It brings us immense pride to bring extraordinary art closer to people's doorsteps.

We are celebrating our significant anniversary in style with a landmark exhibition of original prints by Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Henri Matisse, Tracey Emin and more. The collection may be new, but Hidden’s unwavering commitment to outstanding art remains the same.

  • The Origin Story

    The Origin Story

Inspiration first struck Chris Kendall, Hidden’s founder, when he had the opportunity to hang a dozen artworks from his personal collection in The Clifton Arcade in the lead-up to Christmas in 2015.

Kendall's passion for collecting began with a pair of etchings by Salvador Dalí. He was amazed to be able to afford something that directly connected him to such a legendary artist. Ever since Kendall's 2015 pop-up exhibition, he has strived to share this unparalleled feeling with enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The pop-up exhibition was a huge success, and half of the artworks sold before it even opened. Within ten days, everything was gone. A lightbulb had gone off in Kendall's head and by spring 2016, Hidden had become a permanent fixture of The Clifton Arcade.

The Wonderful World of Original Prints

For a decade, Hidden has championed original prints. Limited-edition lithographs, etchings, screenprints and more offer collectors a rare and affordable means of owning an artwork by a preeminent master.

Each household name in Hidden's collection has had a remarkable printmaking career. Picasso's first ever Dove of Peace was a lithograph, and Emin's monoprints are considered to be amongst her finest artworks. Many of our artists famously pushed the boundaries of printmaking; Dalí fired ink-filled snail shells at his printing plates with a musket, and Hockney invented a novel printmaking method using a Xerox machine. The importance of original prints cannot be overstated, and many of the artworks found on our gallery walls are also held in prestigious private and museum collections.

Our team scours the globe for exceptional works on paper, and our latest exhibition features some of our finest acquisitions to date. With ‘A Big Bold Beautiful Show’, we will continue to celebrate the legacy and vitality of printmaking.

  • Here's to another decade!

'A Big Bold Beautiful Show' will be on display at our gallery in Bristol between 23rd October – 6th November. Plan your visit now, and don't miss out on viewing this spectacular collection in person!

We will host an evening celebration on Thursday, 23 October between 6 – 8pm, where fellow art lovers are invited to raise a glass and welcome in Hidden’s next decade. There are limited spaces available, so get in touch via the button below to secure your spot.
