A 21st Century Classic: Tracey Emin
Buy work by an established contemporary artist such as Tracey Emin or Damien Hirst. Be selective though! It’s important that the work you choose is from a key period in the artists' output. This is particularly true with Hirst as he is extremely prolific. The Emin work in this slideshow has wide appeal and is from a very small edition – both key factors when considering future investment potential.
A Modern Master: Peter Blake
Although now 90 years old, Peter Blake is still revered as a British icon. His pioneering pop art works, including his famous Beatles album cover, propelled him to international acclaim which has never diminished. His collage works remain his most sought after and are likely to continue to draw fans as the supply rapidly diminishes.
A Unique Visionary: Marc Chagall
Marc Chagall’s works are instantly recognisable and inimitable. The use of colour and dreamlike imagery are all his own, which are just two reasons why his work remains in such high demand.
An A-lister: Andy Warhol
As with Chagall (above), Warhol’s work needs no introduction. The last few years have seen prices rocket for all his work, and it is getting more difficult than ever to find high quality works in good condition. This, coupled with a global profile, cements Andy Warhol at the very top of the tree.
