Docket - born on the same road as the Kray twins in Spitalfields - may justly be considered the most celebrated feline in contemporary British art. He was Tracey Emin's beloved companion for nearly two decades until his death in 2020 and inspired countless works of art. Grayson Perry, Piggy Bank, 2017
Perhaps Britain's greatest chronicler of modern life and all its absurdities, Grayson Perry is a master at swimming against the mainstream. This polymorphous piggy bank was created for "The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever!", his iconic 2017 show at the Serpentine Gallery. An incredible snapshot of the French art world in 1950, the legendary "Estampes" portfolio is a ready-made collection of woodblock prints that includes hand-signed images by Braque, Chagall, Dufy, Matisse and Picasso. All but two of the 12 artists featured are held in the Tate collection. In terms of artistic pedigree, it doesn't get better than this. Robert Indiana's celebrated sixty-year LOVE series began as a correspondence card that he sent to friends in 1964. It has since been realised as a sculpture in over 50 different editions, at sites ranging from New York to Singapore. Immediately recognisable as a pop-culture icon the world over, it's a fabulous addition to any collection. Our sculpture was originally sold by major art museums and is a highly covetable (and portable) piece of history.
