Portrait of Alexina “Teeny” Matisse, the wife of Matisse’s youngest son Pierre who was an art dealer. Teeny was the subject of several portrait sketches by her father-in-law Henri Matisse in 1938. After her separation from Pierre, Teeny later moved to New York and married Marcel Duchamp in 1954.
