Marc Chagall

Marc Chagall (1887 - 1985) was a Russian-born Jewish painter, lithographer, etcher and designer.Born in Vitebsk of a deeply religious Jewish family. His work was somewhat influenced by Cubism, but differed from it in his love of fantasy. His figurative style made him one of most popular modern artists, while his long life and varied output made him one of the most internationally recognized. He died at 98 years old and he was the last surviving member of the School of Paris.
