Marc Chagall
Framed:92 x 64cm
This poster features the image La Leçon de Philétas from Chagall's celebrated lithographic suite Daphnis et Chloé, published in 1961. This suite of forty-two prints took Chagall three years to produce and is unquestionably his defining work as a printmaker. Based on the 2nd century text by Longus, it follows the trials and tribulations of two childhood friends as they grow up and fall in love. In addition to the source material, Chagall drew inspiration from the vibrant landscapes of the Mediterranean.
