Ellie Thompson

Assistant Gallery Manager
Ellie joined the team at Hidden in 2022 after graduating with a degree in Fine Art from The University of Oxford. Her studies culminated in a dissertation exploring humour through the work of contemporary artists such as David Shrigley and Catherine Biocca.

Alongside her work with Hidden, Ellie is a sculptor who has exhibited across the country in exciting venues such as The Holburne Museum.

Ellie's first experience of working in a gallery was when she helped to invigilate an exhibition of Louise Bourgeois' sculptures, drawings and prints at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum. This exhibition was brought to her hometown via one of the Tate's ARTIST ROOMS touring exhibitions, a programme which aims to bring internationally renowned artists closer to people's doorsteps. This is an ethos shared by Hidden, which Ellie is incredibly proud to support through her role as the gallery's assistant manager.

Amongst her favourite galleries are Birmingham's Ikon and Eastside Projects, and Oxford's Modern Art Oxford.
