This thematic fascination is perfectly encapsulated by Free, which features a male body ensnared by fine black lines that dissect the lithograph. Its monochromatic palette is enhanced by a pool of rich yellow ochre that appears as though it has just been poured onto the page, pushing the central figure to the fore.
