As I write, the sun streams through the windows and the sky is an undiluted azure blue. Lest you think I’m sunning myself on a Portuguese beach, I am in fact in Bristol. Nevertheless the sun brings out the optimist in me and it’s that characteristic that has led me to spend the last few months preparing to launch our latest gallery - Hidden, London.
Some might think it foolhardy, rather than optimistic to be launching a new space, at a time like this. Some might think it bizarre to open a gallery in a room without walls and some might wonder, why a gallery at all, when so much is now transacted online.
The answer is simple – we love galleries, because we love meeting our friends and customers, and we believe there is no substitute for seeing work in the flesh. As for the walls, we didn’t want to spoil our view onto the Post Office Tower or lose any of the wonderful light in our space, so we’ve an ingenious solution that you’ll need to visit to see.
It has taken months and a cast of thousands to get here (more about that in next week’s issue) but for now please come and see us in Camden Town, we’ve some wonderful works on view, see below for a tiny selection..
We’re just 5 minutes’ walk from the tube and even closer to the Lock.
We're operating restricted hours until 21st June, so if you’re planning to visit please drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me on 07891 848 437.
In the meantime we will open our doors for the first time on Saturday 12th, June at 10.00 a.m and
we’d really love to see you (There'll be bubbles!).
