Framed: 70 x 99cm
From the action of a walk to the temporary placement of stones along the way, from piles of stones placed on the gallery floor to mud smeared upon the walls with his hands, Richard Long helped redefine sculpture in the 1970s. For Long, the landscape is at once the medium and subject of his work. He travels to challenging and remote terrains, documenting long walks with text and photographs, while leaving piles of rocks and other ephemeral installations behind him. Long’s projects exist as installations, but also as memory and narrative in our imaginations. These beautiful lithographs have been printed on hand-made hemp paper, and feature Long's signature thumb-print motif.
