Six Great Britons

Legends of Modern and Contemporary British Art
This week we wanted to feature works by six of the most popular British artists of the last 50 years.  Each of these powerhouse artists became the leading exponent in their genre in their own time and all, apart from L.S. Lowry, are still working today.

Peter Blake (90), Bridget Riley (91) and David Hockney (85) continue to produce work that is sought after globally, whilst L.S. Lowry’s prints are more in demand than ever, despite it being 50 years since they were created.

Bringing things more up to date is an original painting by Damien Hirst and a charming bronze by Tracey Emin of her much-loved cat Docket who served as the artists companion and muse for 19 years, until it's death in 2020.

Despite their difference in age, style and output, each of these artists have in common the fact that their works are in high demand and represent a great addition to any collection.
