Pablo Picasso | 50 Years On : At Hidden Gallery Bath

6 April - 10 May 2023

The 8th of April will mark the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death. The universally championed artist, co-founder of Cubism, advocate of the Pacifist Movement and prolific innovator is responsible for many defining moments in modern art.

Picasso broke records with his output, working up until his death at the age of 91, and creating an estimated 147,800 artworks across his lifetime. At the height of his career he was creating an average of two artworks a day. However, their inherent quality was never compromised by their quantity. So extensive is the artist’s portfolio, that his work is academically separated into different periods; the ‘Blue Period’, the ‘Rose Period’, the ‘Analytical Cubism Period’ and the ‘Cubism Synthetic Period’. Simultaneously, his collection has been physically spread across a significant number of global, dedicated museums.

We are delighted to be bringing Hidden’s collection of rare and sought-after Picasso artworks to Bath. Famously, the artist’s final words were ‘drink to me, drink to my health, you know I can’t drink anymore’. By his own command, we invite you to Hidden’s Bath Gallery on Saturday 8th April from 12pm-5pm, to raise a glass and celebrate his work.

The exhibition will commence on Thursday 6th April in Bath but if you are available please feel free to attend our weekend celebration too. For more information, or to book in a free consultation, please email ellie@hiddengallery.co.uk or call 01225 25100.
