This piece is one of Lowry's earliest original lithographs, executed to a larger scale than any of his subsequent graphic works. Most of Lowry's editioned works are reproductions of his paintings, but during the 1960s he worked with London’s Ganymed Press to create a series of sixteen original lithographs, drawn especially for this purpose and published in small editions of only 75 copies each, with a handful of proofs. This example was sourced from the personal collection of L. S. Lowry and his heir the late Carol Ann Lowry.
