Hidden are delighted to announce that we are officially working in collaboration with the famous L'Atelier Mourlot. Mourlot are the most celebrated art printers of the 20th century. For onwards of 152 years, Fernand Mourlot has been synonymous with the resurgence of lithography – a process which under his influence, attracted the greatest artistic masters of our time.

This piece of work has come directly from the Mourlot archive and is signed and dated by Eric Mourlot, Fernand Mourlot's grandson. On the reverse, this piece has the Mourlot studio's blindstamp. It is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from, also signed and dated by Eric Mourlot.

This lithograph was created to promote the Musée National Message Biblique in Nice, France to Japanese visitors. The lithograph is based on Chagall’s oil painting “Le Cantique des Cantiques III” which is now in the collection of the Musée National Marc Chagall, Nice. It was printed from the same plate as the signed edition, on slightly thinner paper. Created by Charles Sorlier at the atelier Mourlot in 1974 for the National Museum in Nice with Japanese text. During this period, Japanese collectors were taking a particular shine to the work of Chagall, enticed by his incredible use of vivid colour. In response to this, the Museum wanted to attract more visitors from Japan to the South of France, so they included a translation on the lithograph.
