William Scott
This work was one of sixteen screenprints produced to illustrate the text Towards Euclid (a Poem for Alexander). Often regarded as the Father of Geometry, Euclid is said to have taught mathematics to Alexander the Great. This image relates to a single line in the poem: "define a space with angles equal". The poem ends with the invocation to "Imbue my geometry with Colour; Blue, Brown and Black and paint a poem for Alexander."
